Habits of a Healthy Mind

Thirty to forty percent of sick-leave claims are related to conditions such as stress, depression and anxiety. Being mindful of mental health is as vital as caretaking one’s physical health. Research findings in mind-body medicine, neurobiology, and positive psychology, have recognized that there are specific practices for supporting flourishing and optimizing psychological well-being. This session is based on those findings.

Though attitudes and habits can seem difficult to change, the good news is that science shows that there are habits of mind that can be learned and strengthened to enhance well-being, relationships, engagement, and work performance. This highly interactive workshop leaves participants feeling energized and more in control of their lives.

In this session participants will learn:

  • Tips to develop a more flexible perspective when encountering barriers
  • The impact of optimism on behaviour, life satisfaction, and productivity
  • Resilient ways of thinking for improved life satisfaction, focus, and overall well-being
  • Understand why we’re wired for the negative and how to reframe during times of challenge to achieve success
  • How to increase your positivity ratio and impact the energy of your group or team
